What Clark fails to mention is that even though companies place made in America on their products, does not mean that all the components or processes are done in America. It just means that final assembly was done here. Every part could be foreign as long as they complete the assembly and place the bow on in the U.S., it is then can be said, its made in the USA.

This is a very lazy researched article. It uses GE Appliances, a Chinese company, However there are a minimum of 10 other foreign companies manufacturing refrigirators in the USA. Look st the southern states for many manufacturing plants, because there are no unions. Also look a Direct Tools that manufactures in SC and GA for Ryobi and Rigid. Finally, for design and manufacturing furniture, look at Room and Board, where they only sell USA made products with their furniture being made in all parts of the US.
I have an issue with items saying they are “MADE” somewhere.
Years ago in Hawaii, there was a marketing procedue allowed. Items could advertise they were “Made in Hawaii” if 50% or more of the value was added here. You could buy macadamia nuts from New Zealand and ship them here, crack them open and chocolate cover them and say they were MADE in Hawaii because the cost of cracking them and preparing them was more tthan the cost of the nuts.
We used to allow companys to hide where products are actually grown or raised and the public was clueless. The Farm Bills of late attempt to correct that but only pertains to covered products.
