I’m looking for a good portable neck fan to help stay cool during walks, travel, and outdoor activities. I came across this list of portable neck fans, from different trusted resources like new york times and wire cutter etc and the JISULIFE Portable Neck Fan and Gulaki Neck fan both caught my attention. Has anyone here used either of them? Which one would you recommend, or is there another model that’s even better?
We bought these from Walmart and have been happy. But I do not have others to compare them with Arctic Air Freedom Neck Cooler, Evaporative Cooling with Ionic Purifier, 3 Speeds & USB Rechargeable Battery, Quiet & Perfect for Travel and Outdoor, White, AAFRDM-MC4
Thanks for the recommendations, everyone! I really appreciate the feedback. I hadn’t considered the Arctic Air Freedom before, so I’ll take a look at that one. I’ll also check out the Project Farm video since it’s always nice to see products tested side by side. If anyone else has experience with a portable neck fan, I’d love to hear what you’re using and how it’s been holding up. Things like comfort, battery life, airflow, and noise level are all important to me, so any real-world feedback is welcome.
I bought the 2 pack by Jisulife from Costco last year. I’m still using the first one. Each fan has a USB A charging cord so they charge slowly. They will also charge with any usb a to usb c cord. I notice the charge doesn’t last too long if you crank it up to full speed, but at lower levels there’s plenty of battery life for several hours. I think Costco usually stocks high quality goods. Noise level depends on which setting you use but its not too loud. The unit is supposed to be used with the air vents pointing upward toward your face but that dries out my contacts so I turn them to flow out against my neck instead. Its a bit heavy so if you are bouncing it may clunk into your collar bones, though I’d guess thaat happens with any of them.
None. I understand the dangers of Lithium-Ion cells, and would never want one around my neck. Especially the no-brand stuff you find at amazon and elsewhere.
Been pleased with the neck fan listed below that I recently ordered from walmart.com. Currently on sale for less than $20 and with my Walmart + membership received free shipping. Has six speeds and turn it on the highest speed to blow against my neck, which triggers a bodily cooling response. Really helps to keep me cooler when taking my dog to the dog park, especially when sitting in the shade with one of my lightweight directors chairs.
Just be aware that cooling units that use water for evaporative cooling aren’t very effective in high humidity regions
