I started claiming SSDI benefits a little less than two years ago. After two years on SSDI, one is automatically enrolled in Medicare. And this month I did receive a notification about this. If I’m reading it right, you pay in advance for the following month, so they will start deducting on the December SSA payment for Medicare benefits starting January 2023. But, I have not received a Medicare card yet or anything that has my Medicare number, and I need that number to log into the Medicare site, select a Part D plan, and such. I don’t want to cancel my current insurance until I have a Medicare card to give my doctors. Should I have received a card by now? When should I expect it? Do I need to try to inquire about this (which I’m sure will just be a message saying “Your call is important to us. Click.”)
