Verizon Prepaid in conjested areas - WARNING

Just read the article that I recieved in my email today titlled “Verizon Prepaid: 6 Things To Know Before You Sign Up” Written by Dallas Cox on June 14th, 2024. Verizon Prepaid: 6 Things To Know Before You Sign Up

I have had Verizon Preaid for 7 or 8 years. I am on the 5GB plan. The only issue I have with it is it does not provide internet access at all in most conjested areas. This includes concerts, sporting events, downtown areas, anywhere where there are lots of people. I have learned to live with it because I live in an uncongested area and when I am at home it works fine.

When I have the no internet issue and I am with one of my adult kids or someone else who has a Verizon Postpaid account thieir internet access works perfectly in the conjested area and they harass me about trying to save a couple of dollars on my phone bill. Its actually several dollars.

The example in the article about the amusment park Fast Pass should be more like “if you don’t have a Fast Pas you don’t get to go on the ride”.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s awesome that you’re able to save quite a bit on your phone bill with Verizon Prepaid compared to Verizon’s postpaid plans, especially with a limited-data plan. So many people overpay for unlimited data that they truly don’t need.

I hate to hear that about the lack of service in congested areas though! I know the slower speeds/data prioritization can be a problem with some prepaid plans (and even some postpaid plans) but it’s really frustrating when you can’t connect at all. Still, I don’t blame you for keeping your current plan anyway since it works so well at home for a fraction of the price!
