I switched from Verizon to Boost Mobile because of Clark’s article about them a couple years ago. Only $103.12 per year including taxes! Unlimited calls & texts, but only 1G Data (I barely use much at all) They used to have a “spin the wheel” game to get points for $ off your bill + 5 points (5 cents) every day you logged in on the app. My 1st year I only paid $21 for the entire year and last year (June 18, 2023 to June 18, 2024) I only paid $7.55! WELL, last month they removed the 5 cents and the game. The only way to get any money off is 1 point for watching a video about a game or 2 points if you get a game app or shop and buy stuff! Since their rates are going up to $25/month, today I pre-paid for the next year $103.12. My balance due on June 18, 2025 says zero and I hope it stays that way! Btw, their service is great and the same as I had with Verizon. There is also a brick & mortar store near where I live. Also I had to upgrage to a 5G phone to get the call service to work. Even though my “old” phone was 4G and supposedly compatible, only the texting would work.
Hi, Nancy!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I had been recommending the 1GB annual plan as one of the cheapest prepaid options available for a long time! I hated to see that Boost Mobile retired that plan with the rebrand. I’m glad you were still able to grab it for at least one more year!
I hate to hear that about the discount games on the app though. It sounds like that was an easy way to save extra cash- $7.55 for an entire year of service is amazing!!
I am really glad to hear that you’ve had great service with Boost Mobile. I also had a similar issue with an older phone when I tested out Boost Mobile a couple of years ago- I’m glad you were able to get it resolved! It sounds like the savings you’ve had over the past few years on your phone plan have been worth the device upgrade.
