We are looking for someone to cut down some small trees, remove ivy etc. We have several quotes. Most of the companies are playing games and trying to squeeze every dollar out of us. The job is not technical. And the quotes seem very high. Any suggestions? No solicitations please.
If the trees could fall the wrong way and damage something valuable I would deal with a licensed and insured company. For small gardening and lawncare type situations that don’t require expensive equipment you can probably find individuals advertising on Nextdoor or other social websites who would be willing to work for cheap.
Many years ago when I worked for an independent adjusting company we had one tree service that generated so many claims that we joked about having an adjuster just follow them around on a daily basis so we could stay ahead on the claims as they occurred.
I feel you tree removal and yard cleanup quotes can get way inflated.Sometimes local landscaping forums or neighborhood groups have reliable recommendations for smaller honest crews who do not overcharge.
