Mysterious Closed Credit Cards on my Credit Report

I just checked my credit report and I noticed two credit cards listed that I don’t recognize. They are however shown as paid in full, never late, and closed. One was closed in 2014 and the other was closed in 2019. Should I do anything about this?

The information for someone with a similar name may be shown on your credit report in error. You can dispute the information and ask that it be removed by going to the company’s website for the credit report.

If, for example, a store changed issuers on its card you could see the old one as closed and yet still have an account with the store. And it may show as a closed account with the issuer rather than the store.
