I got an email…I hope from State Farm that because of some lawsuit, they are paying out money to auto policy holders. We have them …but I don’t want to be scammed. Is this legit? Has anyone else gotten these emails ? Thanks
Yes, there actually is a legitimate State Farm cash-back payment happening, so the email may be real. State Farm says qualifying auto customers with a policy active at some point are receiving a one-time dividend averaging around $100 per vehicle.
That said, I’d still be careful with the email itself. I wouldn’t click any links until verifying it through the State Farm website or your account. State Farm specifically warns about phishing emails and says suspicious messages can be forwarded to abuse@statefarm.com.
Everything I’ve read says that it’s just a dividend (since they are a mutual company) and largest in their history. Nothing to do with a lawsuit.
