ID.me and non-SSA "benefits"

Has Clark made any comments re ID.me verification, giving them one’s SSN, etc? I have a website wanting to use that as a method to potentially get a Senior discount. I’m just starting my Senior journey, and using login.gov for gov sites. Is this going to be common, that to get Senior benefits with private companies, an ID.me account will be required? I’m not excited about giving them my SSN.

I think the trend is to use ID.me for access to most gov sites. It works for IRS.gov.

Added later: I just ran across this explanation of the difference between the two:

I just wish they wouldn’t keep changing the access website. Just up the security of existing websites and accounts!
