Fed ex email and text need a tracking #

I received a text giving me instructions to get my fed ex package that they tried to deliver. there is a email called abuse@fedex.com if you think its a scam. fed ex chat said they have to give you a real tracking # to be from fed ex. Has anyone got this text?

I get these all of the time. My wife just got one. If it’s an email, just touch the “From & To” at the top and it will show you the true email address which will be full of crazy numbers and not from FedEx or UPS. Also, it may show numerous other recipients meaning it was a mass mailing. If it was a text touch the carrot by the sender’s phone number and the info section can show you where it actually came from. But, most of all whether it’s real or fake don’t touch any links. Just go directly to their website and sign in. Put their tracking number in and you’ll find out quickly if it’s legit. Same with phone numbers in emails and text. Just assume first that they are fake and go from there.

I generally just take an existing UPS, USPS or FedEx tracking number and paste it into Google Search. I use the number given to me from the seller/sender. If given a number in text or cellphone message, I would not log into my account from any link supplied, rather I would go to the shipper website and past the tracking number.

Great idea!
