When planning a trip, I’ve always wondered whether it’s better to book flight as early as possible or wait and watch for a better price. what has best worked for you? Do you have a certain number of weeks or month you usually wait before booking?

Welcome, Liam! I usually book a few months early, but I’ll wait if prices seem unusually high and my dates are flexible.
We book our international flighrs 3 months out and then check the pricing every week. If the price goes down we rebook and take the eCredit. In some cases we have rebooked the same flight 3 times and saved almost 50%…

Question: I booked w/American MAIN and family wants me to change date.
Will have to change both trips, or just the one effected.
I am not sure how to do it w/o buying 2 tickets.
It is actually more on the date i leave.
is it better to call 800#. (i have 800 433 7300 but if there is a better # let me know)
PS: American did make the change easy, and i will take butlers advice, and check for reduction in price. I only changed the day i leave, and not the day i return. MAIN is 2nd level up and allows changes w/o fees.
I usually book early when my dates are fixed.
