Does anyone know exactly which smart power strips Clark is referring to in the second segment of the 5/2 podcast at about 17:25? I’ve looked and can’t find anything that exactly matches his description. I don’t want/need anything that requires apps and WiFi integration, and the closest I could find are things like APC P8GT or TrickleStar TS1104, but these also are not quite what Clark described. Thanks!
I did not hear that podcast, but I use Gosund products of all types around the house. Gosund makes Smart Power Strips and several other devices to help with managing power around the home.
Many of the Gosund products are available under the brand GHome from Amazon.
Not doubting this but curious. What makes them “smart”?
Smart devices connect to WiFi. They can then be controlled via an app or via third party smart apps like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, etc. The devices can be remote controlled, programmed to go on/off on a schedule, voice controlled, etc. They are very handy.
I have several smart switches and outlets installed in my home. I really like turning the lights on and off using voice commands. There is no more fumbling around in the dark for a light switch.
Programming the devices to go on and off at different times can give the home a lived-in look when it is unoccupied.
