Unexpected Battery Drain on New Laptops After Sleep Mode

Hello

I recently bought a new laptop & I’ve noticed that the battery drains significantly even when the device is in sleep mode. In just a few hours; I lose a substantial percentage of battery life, which doesn’t seem normal for a modern laptop with optimized power settings. This happens even when no apps are running in the background. :upside_down_face:

I have checked the power settings; disabled fast startup, and ensured there are no unnecessary background processes. However, the issue persists.

I’m wondering if this could be due to connected standby or an issue with certain hardware configurations. Has anyone else experienced similar battery drain issues? If so, what steps did you take to fix it? Checked https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254824167?sortBy=rankjava certification online related to this and found it quite informative.

I’d appreciate any insights / troubleshooting steps that might help resolve this. Also, if there’s a way to fully hibernate the device without causing disruptions, that would be great to know!

Thank you!! :slightly_smiling_face:

Need to know the OS and brand. If it’s windows, I suggest you disconnect the ethernet connection. If you are wireless, put it in airplane mode, but I don’t even like that. If you are geeky, put a network monitor on it. These days, “sleep” doesn’t necessarily mean sleep.
