Hearing Aids for Travel

I am looking for a recommendation for “over the counter” hearing aids primarily for a trip in March to SE Asia. (But also for working in the yard)

I will also be bringing my Costco ones but would like to have an extra pair to wear on excursions and the like so if I lose them, it won’t be as big a $ loss.

Like my Costco ones, I like the idea of over the ear variety.

A NYT article listed this one: for $350: Tweak Enhance OTC Hearing Aid

If anybody has any recommendation/insights of over the counter hearing aids, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you JTraveler

The new Apple AirPod Pro 2 have hearing aid capabilities. $249. Never used them for this purpose but may be worth looking into.

Thank you for your suggestion and I did look it up. I’m a klutz so the issue for me is I like over the ear so I’ll be less likely to lose.

But it is an option. Again, Thanks.

Consumer Reports has a recent article on tests of over the counter hearing aids including some over the ear models.

I’d never heard of this, but recently ran into a friend who told me about them, and said they have made a huge difference for him.

Thank you for this reference. There was some valuable information in the article, but it didn’t allow me to access the specific options and their evaluation of each OTC option. Bummer.

Do you know if I might be able to find the “in print” issue at the library - assuming CR is still printed?

Thx again.

You should be able to find the print issue at your local library. Also you may find discussions of specific over the counter hearing aids at hearingtracker.com.

Again, thank you.
