Have many gift cards with small amount unused

I received about 6 gift cards from legal settlements. The gift cards are only electronic with no actual card. I have used most of the charges down to about $5.00 per card still remaining. Since there is no plastic card I can only use the cards buying online. Anything I buy online is over the amount on any one card.

Do you have any suggestions how I can use the remaining balances on the the cards?

Neil, Usually you can use the gift card, then use another form of payment for the rest. That way you can wipe out those cards down to zero. Clark would be proud of you!

I have not found and websites that would allow me to use 2 different credit cards. Can you tell me some popular sites that allow it?

Load them to your Amazon account by reloading your gift card balance.

My cards have very small amounts, sometimes only $1.50 of $2.00. Can I load that small amount onto the Amazon gift card?

I don’t think they allow you to do this with small amounts anymore.

The only one that I have used consistently for these gift cards with low balances is Target.com orders. It allows you to split payments between a credit card and your Target Red Card. This is how I’ve been able to bring Visa gift card balances down to zero.

I don’t have a Target Red Card, can I do the same with my own VISA credit card?

You are correct, I just looked. $5.00 minimum now.

Good to know, although it’s a bummer. That was the perfect solution until it wasn’t.

I run into this too with a couple of cards sitting at a dollar or two. The split payment idea works well in person, like glasspilot said, you just have the cashier run the gift card first for whatever is left and pay the rest on your debit card. I didn’t know about Amazon’s $5 minimum now, that kills the trick for the really small ones. NachoMama’s Target idea sounds like the best bet for those tiny balances, worth trying if you have the Red Card.
