A roofing company filed a claim to my insurance on my behalf. Insurance rejected it, and the roofer convinced me to hire their attorney (third party). That was two years ago. Now I want to terminate the law firm, but they are saying I will owe them fees. How do I terminate the agreement and pay the minimal amount?
I’m not a lawyer and this is not legal advice… but:
#1. Read everything you signed. You are probably responsible to do what those documents say you have agreed to do.
#2. Most lawyers are good at collecting debts.
#3. Figure out how much it is worth to you in terms of $ to make it go away.
#4. Legal disputes can be time-consuming, expensive and frustrating, choose your battles carefully.
