I researched the best single serve coffee maker as I’ve been struggling with busy mornings and really needed something quick and easy that doesn’t make a whole pot. i have been experiencing a lot of groggy early starts and honestly my old machine just takes too long. i went through reviews from trusted sources like CNET, NYTimes Wirecutter, and a few YouTube reviewers, and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:
Keurig K-Express Single Serve Coffee Maker – Strong Brew Option, 42oz Reservoir, Sleek Design for Holiday Hosting & Gifting, Warm Stone
Ninja | Coffee Maker | Single Serve |Brew with Coffee Pods & Grounds| Compatible with K-Cup Coffee Pods | 4 Brew Styles, up to 24oz Cup Sizes & 56oz Removable Reservoir | Black | PB051
however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some coffee enthusiasts or people who’ve used both machines on this forum can also share their advice.
i usually drink 1–2 cups a day, prefer something fast, and I’m not great with complicated settings, so I’m wondering which one would be more recommended for me? any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
This may not be for you but what we use is a coffee cone with paper filter.
Its simple: Put the coffee of your choice in the cone filter, place the filter over a cup and pour in hot water (nuked or from a tea kettle).
We typically pour 3 Yeti’s of coffee and we don’t notice any difference in strength from 1 to 3.
Best single for me was one I used to sell, made by Swiss Gold then change to Frieling. Frieling’s small “Coffee-for-One” / cone filter was originally from Swiss Gold (often written Swissgold). Frieling sold a version developed in collaboration with Swiss Gold and later the product was made under other brands after Swiss Gold/Frieling stopped manufacturing. I don’t see it on Frielings site now. I do see someone on Ebay selling one (used) for sometfing like $120
There are a few company’s making similar. Here is another: COFFEE SPRINTER should cost less than $20.
In google search for “finum coffee sprinter”.
You separate the two pieces, place the bottom part over the top of a coffee cup. Put a table spoon of ground coffee in to cover the screen, place the top on top and pour boiling water in. The water drips over the grounds. Adjust the amount of coffee to taste.
When I traveled, I took one of these in my luggage and a bag of ground coffee beans.
After visiting my cousin this past summer, I purchased the same kind of coffee maker they had, a Nespresso Vertuo. The only downside is you have to purchase their coffee pods. I drink espresso, and it can make espresso, double espresso, coffee, etc. (the pod used determines the size of the pour).
After our Keurig bit the dust, my girlfriend decided on the Ninja DualBrew Pro CFP300. Works awesome. Has a separate dispenser for hot water so that the water isn’t contaminated by any coffee residual.
