Best Air Fryer, Expert Recommendation to Choose

I researched the best air fryer as I’ve been trying to eat healthier lately and wanted something that could help me cut down on oil without giving up my favorite foods. i have been experiencing a lot of frustration with my old oven because it takes forever to heat up and never cooks things evenly. i went through reviews from trusted sources like Wirecutter, Good Housekeeping, and CNET and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

  1. Breville BOV900BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro and Convection Oven, Brushed Stainless Steel

  1. Ninja DCT451 12-in-1 Smart Double Oven with FlexDoor, Thermometer, FlavorSeal, Smart Finish, Rapid Top Convection and Air Fry Bottom , Stainless Steel

however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some home cooks or people who’ve used both models on this forum can also share their advice.
i usually prefer something easy to clean and large enough to cook for 2–3 people, so I’m not sure which one would be more recommended for me? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I actually went down the same rabbit hole a while back and looked into both of those. Honestly, after using them and also digging through customer reviews on Amazon, Google, and even Reddit discussions, I don’t think the Ninja and Breville are the best options for everyone.

The Breville BOV900BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is solid, but it’s pretty bulky, takes longer to preheat, and cleaning it can be a bit of a hassle. The Ninja DCT451 12-in-1 Smart Double Oven is convenient with the dual setup, but I noticed inconsistent cooking at times and it feels a bit overcomplicated for everyday use.

I’ve actually been using the CHEF iQ MiniOven Smart Toaster Oven Air Fryer Combo and the Cosori Iconic Stainless Steel 6.5 Qt Smart Air Fryer for a couple of years now, and they’ve been much better for my needs.

The CHEF iQ is great because:

  • Super fast cooking with smart presets

  • Touchscreen controls are really easy to use

  • Good size (25 Qt) without feeling oversized

  • More consistent results compared to what I saw with Ninja

And the Cosori:

  • Heats up quickly and cooks very evenly

  • The ceramic (PFAS-free) coating is a big plus for me

  • Dishwasher-safe basket makes cleanup way easier

  • Perfect size for 2–3 people

For me, these two just feel more practical and reliable for daily use. They don’t have some of the downsides I experienced with Ninja and Breville especially when it comes to ease of use and cleaning.

Yeah, I had a very similar experience when comparing these.

The **Breville BOV900BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro**is definitely a high-quality option, but for me it felt a bit too large for everyday use and not very convenient when it comes to cleaning. The Ninja DCT451 12-in-1 Smart Double Oven is also very versatile, but I personally found it a bit overcomplicated for simple daily cooking.

Between the two, both are powerful machines, but I felt like they lean more toward “full oven replacement” setups rather than something quick and easy for regular meals.
