Just remember that GV does require WiFi to work unless you pay for cell service.

I presume if I have an e-sim which provides data service I can access GV without wifi. I use e-sims while traveling for cheaper data rates than Fi.

GV requires WiFi to work. However, I think you can link the GV number to another number - I can get my TracFone calls on GV but havenā€™t tried the reverse. Iā€™ve not used an e-sim yet, so Iā€™m not certain. Thereā€™s a pretty good and active userā€™s group for GV if you want to ask further. Hope it works for you.

Thanks again. I set up Google voice on a new Google account and was able to use it on my backup phone without being connected to wifi so I think Iā€™m good to go. Iā€™ll verify this works outside of the country next time I leave but Iā€™d be surprised if it didnā€™t.

Thanks for letting me know. Would you let me know for sure after youā€™ve tried it out of the country? Iā€™ve only used it on WiFi and would love to know it works without it!
