According to Clarks newsletter Consumer Cellular is affected but I just contacted them and they said that CC is NOT affected?

I haven’t heard from Consumer Cellular specifically regarding which customers were affected by the AT&T data breach. When AT&T announced the data breach, the company stated that nearly all cellular customers on AT&T’s network, including MVNOs, were affected. While Consumer Cellular is now exclusively an AT&T MVNO, the company previously used both AT&T and T-Mobile’s towers.
It’s possible that you weren’t affected by the data breach even as a Consumer Cellular customer if you were using T-Mobile’s network at the time of the accessed records (May 1, 2022-October 31, 2022). Even if you were using AT&T’s network at that time, the company stated that “nearly all” customers were affected, which means you could also be part of the small percentage that wasn’t.
AT&T did state that they would notify current and former customers if their information was involved in the data breach (either by text, email or U.S. mail). I don’t know when the company plans to contact affected customers, but I don’t think they’ve sent out those notifications to everyone yet.
I would keep an eye out for that notice and/or contact AT&T directly 800-852-4346 to verify that you weren’t affected!
I have Consumer Cellular on the ATT network. I contacted them by chat and was told that they were not affected!
