I paid for airport parking once and realized rideshare would have been much cheaper. It definitely change how i travel.

I have not flown in quite a while, but there was a time when I 30-40 of times each year, mostly through the Atlanta airport. Back then, I almost always used the off-site park-and-fly lots. Lately, though, many of my friends who travel regularly have been telling me they’ve switched to rideshares or taxis because they’re often more convenient and, in some cases, even cheaper.
I recently saw a news report suggesting that in cities like New York, taxis are sometimes less expensive than rideshares these days. So, thank you for sharing this. It confirms what I’ve been hearing from others and gives me a little more confidence to give it a try on my next trip.
Who knows, maybe I’ll finally retire my park-and-fly loyalty card and let someone else worry about finding a parking spot. Thanks again for the insight!
The ride share pick up area is not convenient at ATL, plus the location has changed over the years which can be confusing. Airport parking prices have increased exponentially in 2026. I prefer Preflight, an offsite parking lot. Preflight has a frequent flyer program plus quick pick ups. The drivers help with luggage when needed. The buses are clean. Preflight drops off at the curb and picks up at the offsite bus pick up area which is near the south terminal, exit past Marta.
