Unlike most other credit cards, this one gives cash back on gift card purchases. Sometimes, when the savings makes sense, I’ll take advantage of Amazon’s offer to try Prime for a week for $1.99 and buy several Home Depot gift cards at $500 each. Tip: If you’re doing a limited time trial of Prime, make your gift card purchases one of the last as they can trigger Amazon’s Fraud Dept and they may lock your account while they make sure you really do want to buy the gift cards.
