Why Don't I Qualify for Auto Dealers' "Well-Qualified Buyers" Low Interest Rates?

My FICO score bounces between 805 and 820 but I never qualify whenever I’ve tried to get an auto loan through a dealership while they’re running a low-interest special. What score do you need to qualify, or is that just a ploy to get you in the door and no one actually gets that rate?

IT might be more than your FICO score. What is your annual income and do you have any loans? My FICO is over 800 but I’ve had those deals when it was in the 700’s

Right now my only debt is my mortgage. I pay off my credit cards in full each month so debt-to-income ratio is about 6% at any given time.

I just wish I knew what their magic soup is made of.

I have 800+ credit scoer (Thanks Clark). I was rejected for a couple credit cards because I am retired. Now I just lie about income. I am self-employed.

I don’t know how you handle it if someone actually wants to verify income.
