Four weeks is a short amount of time. There is a lot of randomness over short time periods. Could have easily gone the other way.
It’s problematic when people are told by a machine to invest and they don’t understand why nor what they just bought.
It’s like motorists running off of piers into the water because Google Maps told them to “turn right here”.
Way before AI, I tripled my investment in 9 months. I attended an open call being held at NIH auditorium by a well-known and respected drug company (Upjohn). They had a high blood pressure drug with a crazy side effect which was well-documented, that people taking the drug internally got the ‘warewolf effect’ where hair would grow indiscriminately on their body. Upjohn wanted t otest the drug as a topical (on skin) remedy. I knew that whether the trial would go great for the drug or not, that when the rest of the public heard this, the stock would go up. For the first time in history, an actual drug was known to grow hair and not be ‘snake oil’. I invested in Upjohn and sold before the drug was finally approved. That drug you know it as Rogaine/Monoxidil. SO I did not use AI to know when to invest, I used my guy and understaning of human actions. Yes the drug might have been a dud or not approved, tha is why I took my profit and left the market. Even if approved, the stock would tumble some as people took their profits to let the market settle on the news. Human nature guided my investment (although some may call it a gamble).
We have had that happen three times in 15 months at our marina in Kona. They seem to think it is a driveway into the water I guess.
Interesting. I may have to play around with it and see if ChatGPT can do consistently well. I’ve got $100 to risk, and I’m sure AI has much more knowledge (if not discretion) than the average stock broker.
If I were an issuer of stock, I’d really have an incentive to find a way to get the AI chatbots to recommend my stock, wouldn’t I? Or, if I ran an AI service, I’d really be incentivized to take payments from stock issuers who wanted their issuance to be highlighted by my bot.
I’d be cautious. I’d trade on paper (simulated) for a long time before doing anything with live money.
