The Clark article " Why Clark Says You Should ‘Ignore’ Paze as Trendy New Payment Option" doesn’t explain why you shouldn’t use it. It seems slanted against using any payment app. As I understand it, Paze allows you to check out without disclosing your credit card information to a merchant (CC number, name on card, etc.). The article doesn’t make a good case for not using it or why it might be dangerous.
The article states two things that indicate issues: 1) it could automatically be activated on your accounts without your knowledge, and 2) it’s owned by the bank and your data will probably be shared with other financial institutions where you thought you might have opted out of that. These are some of the same arguments about Zelle. And if it has the same “protections” as Zelle, then you can decide if this enough to keep you from using it. I only use Venmo for payments between family members or friends.
Thanks, I got that. This is not for paying friends or family, this is for paying online businesses. It seems more akin to Apple Pay or Google pay (although I don’t know much about those and don’t use them), in that, it doesn’t expose your identity or card information to the business keeping your information secure. I guess it come down to if you trust the credit card company, which I already do, they have all my info. So, I’m still confused.
