Volvo just announced that they will equip their latest BEV, the XC90, with a LiDAR system. The roll-out for the car will be Nov.9th.
LiDAR, (light detection and ranging,) will give the driver a 3-D look down the road for over 1,000 ft. When combined with on-board systems it will be able to detect and analyze objects with extremely high accuracy.
The XC90 will have LiDAR, bi-directional charging and interior occupant monitoring as standard equipment.
