Hazard Waste Disposal

I am getting ready to move and have a lot of pant cans, weed killers, insecticides, fertilizers and other hazardous waste products stored in my garage. The movers will not permit them on the truck, neither will the junk collector guy. I usually take them to the mass disposal event offfered once a year in Gwinnett County. However, they have already had that one in 2023 (February) and will not have another one until '24. I need to get rid of these items in the next 30 days. Any ideas? I live in Gwinnett Cty, GA

Leave the lids off the paint cans long enough to let them dry out, then you can throw them in the garbage. Take the rest to your local disposal site (where the garbage trucks dump their loads), and I’m sure they will take them. Or ask your neighbors if they can use any of it.

If you don’t mind driving to Athens, there is the CHaRM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) https://www.accgov.com/5894/Hard-to-Recycle-Materials-CHaRM

They take just about everything and you don’t have to reside in Athens. They do charge a small fee.
