Has anyone used POLICYGENIUS.COM to shop and compare insurance policies? I have not seen any reviews or feedback about the site.
Yes. You will receive competitive quotes, but make sure research the companies before settling on one. Not all of them are great when it comes to customer service.
I recently worked with Policygenius for life insurance quotes after hearing about them through Clark Howard. I had previously used Zander several years ago, so I have a basis for comparison.
My experience with Policygenius was disappointing. Communication was inconsistent, and there were noticeable delays in follow-up throughout the process. At times, I felt like I had to initiate contact to keep things moving. The quotes I received were also higher than I expected based on prior experience shopping for similar coverage and of course they blamed it on my medical history but again I shopped around and theirs was considerably higher. Not sure what their overhead looks like.
Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the workflow or responsiveness. Because of that, I’ve decided to return to the brokerage I used four years ago. In my experience, when a system works well, there’s value in sticking with it.
While others may have a different experience, this one did not meet my expectations, and I wouldn’t use or recommend the service based on how things unfolded for me.
