Just curious, did anyone experience unusual chrome browser crashes frequently after recent MS windows 11 update ?
With the latest update, Win 10 does it too. Reminds me of the old days of the browser wars…
I think that every once and a while the marketing strategy guys at Microsoft convince the propeller heads in development to make the Windows environment a little more hostile for their competitors. It’s been like that since the early 1990’s…

2023-05 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5026446)
I will uninstall it and see how it goes.
I switched to Brave at the beginning of the year and haven’t looked back. Its based on the same Chromium engine used by most browsers but with a lot of privacy controls built in…
Oh, I know the pros and cons because I have been using it for 6 months now. It is far better on system resources and eliminates much of the advertising and tracking.
Every Time MS does an update, it changes to Bing and other MS stuff.
It also sets up “Dock” (whatever that is) at the top of the screen.
Generally takes 5 minutes to get back to the way it was.
Unfortunately, many browsers follow Microsoft standards which dictate new versions of operating systems and upgrades to hardware. Still using Win7 (massive numbers of software that won’t work on later operating systems) has me where I am.
It really does look like planned obsolescence when hardware you bought just a few years ago must be swapped out to load a new operating system. I still get updates to my Win7 but they will stop soon. My Win10 box cannot be updated to Win11, so that was a waste of hundreds of dollars just spent years ago. Chromebooks now supposedly have a 10 year update cycle.
My mainframes that handled 50 users at a time or more had backwards compatability for software 30 years earlier!
How times change!
Firefox for me.
