After reading the article on ink cartridges or alternative ink systems, I wanted to suggest another way of buying ink cartridges. I always check Ebay for cartridges, I keep a bookmark of search criteria to direct me to OEM cartridges for sale by price. I can usually find cosmetically damaged boxed cattridges for a fraction of retail. Having been burned on refilled, leaky cartridges, I try to stay away from them. I always look for cartridges that are in their original sealed inner containers.
I switched to a black and white laser printer. No more dealing with ink. Laser cartridges last a long time. I’ve found I never have a need to print anything in color. If I did I could go to a FedEx/Kinkos.
