Best Days and Worst Days To Go To a Charging Station

I have read Clark’s report about the best and worst days of the week to buy gasoline. That made me curious if there has been any reports on if the same thing holds true for “filling up” your battery at EV at charging stations.

Has anyone read any reports on this?

I’ve had a BEV since Feb 2022 and have never used a commercial charging station.

But my car, and I’m pretty sure all BEVs have the same app, will show you where all the charging stations are, currently available hookups and steer you there.

I would imagine anyone interested would soon learn which stations were most available and most convenient to use.

You can buy the top-rated charging station at Walmart for $550. My cost at home is $0.04 a mile @ avg 12 cents a kwh. I really don’t notice it on my monthly elec bill.

Same here…since 2015.

It’s more time of day, rather than day of the week. Though I suspect some chargers have different prices on weekends than on weekdays. But generally people charge at home unless they are traveling. When traveling, there’s not really an option to charge another time or day.

I can’t speak specifically about charging hours, but there is a Google Search that shows when a business is most busy.

Here is my Costco for today: Since it is now 1pm here, it is NOT a great time to head to Costco for me!

Thank you. My son has an EV and , to be honest, I forgot about his app when I asked the question.

My son uses the level 2 charging station we installed at his house. He does occasionally use a fast charging station.

Thank you for your reply. Unless he needs to charge his EV batteries quickly my son charges his EV at home usually overnight.

Thank you.
