Best car dash cams?

What are the best budget priced car dash cams available? Preferably something that has nighttime recording ability too.

I have a Garmin 47 Dashcam, maybe not budget but I have several Garmin products. Also could try refurbished to bring price down. Great quality and features (lane departure, Parking Guard) uses a Garmin app. I used to buy cheaper Amazon options, they worked okay but short on features. Walmart also sells Onn products I haven’t tried the cam though. Good luck!

I can get that model for $110 through my workplace. Is that a good deal?

Got my kids the Garmin Mini 2 and it does the job with a very small form factor. The more features that you want, the more you are going to pay. Just decide what is important and then read reviews.

Good deal! Especially if you can get newer models. A feature I like is it comes with a long and short cable and I can switch between vehicles easily.

I can also get other models, including the Dash Cam 57. Does it have long enough cables for the rear window?

I don’t know about the DC 57 but I connect my long cable, it reaches the back row of my van; either comes with the model or an add on.

Check out VortexRadar.com he reviews and rates all the dash cams as well as radar detectors.

I second the recommendation to look at the information from “vortex radar”. I purchased a 2 channel dashcam earlier this year (not a budget model) and his reviews were helpful.

Been very pleased with VIOFO dashcam. My older model mounts in middle of windshield and has a long cord to cigarette lighter for power.

I used to park in broad daylight at the office park, and mount weathered the intense heat in warm months very well. Now it’s garaged all the time so not an issue. No complaints after 7+ years.
