I have an Apple Card that I use with Apple Pay as my primary credit card.
A couple of years ago, there was a bogus charge that was removed on their end when I called, I was issued a new virtual number. I haven’t had any problems since until a few days ago.
There were 4 charges to Uber, which were flagged as suspicious activity and I selected the option that I did not make this charge when prompted and Apple went ahead and declined the charges. They gave me a new virtual number and I changed my Apple password. (I also checked my Uber account and the transactions were there, so they were using my card number, not my Uber account - which I haven’t used since last year.)
The next day, after receiving the new virtual number, there were more Uber charges that I declined and they again gave me a new virtual number. They somehow got my new number after only one day and I hadn’t even used it yet.
I know have a 3rd virtual number in one week. I have rotating CVV turned on, physical card turned off and 2 factor authentication for everything.
It seems like the best idea is to cancel but I hate to do that since I use it so frequently. I also thought it was safer than physical cards.
Any thoughts on what I should do? Apple/Goldman Sachs has been very helpful but I don’t want this to keep happening.
Thanks!
