An article published today from Clark says the highest FICO credit score is 850. My CITI Costco card says my FICO score is 862. So who is correct here?
There are multiple scoring models (FICO, Vantage) and then there are different versions of each model. So it just depends on which one Citibank subscribes to for their customers….
Well, CITI says it uses Equifax. It says my FICO score is 862 and shows a chart going up to 900. But Clark’s article says:
FICO and VantageScore, the two best-known credit rating products, both use scales ranging from 300 to 850. The highest credit score possible is 850.
And doesn’t specify any particular agency. So it appears the article is incorrect. I was hoping by posting this, someone from Clarks group could clarify.
Clark is referring to the general credit scores which have a range up to 850.
There are also separate industry specific scores. You received a Bankcard score of 862.The FICO Bankcard Score 8 is a type of industry-specific FICO Score that has a range to 900 and was created for credit card issuers.
