Solving the Frontier "GoWild" math with the $0 credit card hack

Hi everyone,

I’m looking at the Frontier GoWild! Pass ($349 for 2026) and realized it’s only a “deal” if you outsmart the add-on fees. I’ve found that pairing the pass with the Frontier World Mastercard is the only way to make the math truly work for anyone who isn’t a strict “personal item only” traveler.

My Strategy:

The Status Hack: The card offers instant Elite Gold status, which waives the ~$60+ carry-on bag and seat selection fees. Without this, a single round-trip with a bag costs more in fees than the flight’s original value.

International Strategy: I’m targeting international routes because you can book 10 days in advance (vs. 24 hours for domestic), making it actually possible to plan a trip.

The Hub Pivot: To avoid getting “stranded” on routes with limited service, I’m using the pass to fly into major hubs like San Juan (SJU) or Orlando (MCO). If a direct flight is full, these hubs offer multiple daily “GoWild” backups to get home.

The Math:

Standard domestic taxes/fees: ~$15 per segment.

International taxes/fees: Starting at ~$40–$80+.

Breakeven: With the card waiving bag fees, the pass pays for itself in just 2–3 trips.

Has anyone else found the credit card status to be the “missing link” for making this pass viable, or are the blackout dates still too restrictive for you?

The only problem with your plan is that it requires you to fly Frontier, which is in a three-way struggle with Spirit and Allegiant to be the worst airline in the country.
