Rinse before dishwashing?

I don’t know anyone in my neighborhood without a disposal, and almost the whole neighborhood is on septic. (One street is connected to the sewer.). The neighborhood is 52 years old, and I’d be surprised if any of the homes ever did not have disposals…it’s always been upscale.
