Pros & Cons of Retiring in the Philippines? Taxes? Retirement? Medical? Insurance? Cost of Living? Political Unrest?

Seeking advice and information about various aspects of retiring in the Philippines.

Any thoughts about this advice?

It isn’t on the top of the list for retirement destinations, but if you like balmy tropical weather, the cost of living would be much cheaper.

If you got cash, you can always find good health care. The question is, what is the AVERAGE care like? I have seen some unimpressive Philippine dental treatment.

Places higher on my list for retirement would be:

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Medellin, Colombia.
Argentina, especially if the president is successful in his reforms.
Croatia
Poland
Panama
Paraguay

There are lot of nice places to live. I emphasize nice climate, safety, low cost of living, and maximum liberty. Your criteria could be different than mine.

All this in the video is true, it assumes you be earning income in the Phillipines. You plan to retire there, not work. The way to do the banking is to not keep more than a small reserve with a Philippine bank for monthly living expenses in the local currency. Replenish this local account monthly with money from a US bank.
