Pay attention, "the worm has turned", international stocks starting to beat US stocks

For more than the past decade, it has been best to be in US stocks. The bull market in US stocks has been legendary. That may be changing, however.

On a 12, 6, and 3 month basis, Vanguard’s VTI US stock ETF has been bested by Vanguard’s VEU International Stock ETF.

This measure of momentum suggests that it might not be wise going forward to have only US stocks or US stock funds in your portfolio, underscoring the importance of globally diversified.

You know we are in a downturn when a quality foreign stock like Nestle can be bought for a good price. But now it is up over $100 like it was before. Darn. Should have bought even more in the crash.
