New Member With Library Fines

Hello,

Due to an unfortunate mishap, the library book that I have borrowed has water damage. Instead of paying the full price for the book, what are some good sites that I can purchase “like new” books to replace the one that is damaged?

Try cheapestbookprice.com and/or abe.com. I’ve been happy with both of them, and almost always get books in better condition than I expected.

Have you asked the library if they’ll agree to your plan?

Hi @mcfrugal
welcome to the forum

Amazon usually pops up used options in addition to the new price.

pay the fine, library will let you know the cost involved. pay it!

Welcome to the forum! I went through this with a water damaged book a while back and my library let me bring in a used copy of the same edition instead of paying their full replacement price. I still had to pay a small processing fee, but it came out much cheaper. Definitely ask at the desk before you buy anything, since every system has its own rules on that.
