I have been appointed as a Representative Payee for a family member. I am on one coast, and the family member is on the other coast. I need to do two things. Switch the family member to a new bank (preferably Internet-based). The bank needs to be able to work with a representative payee and… I need to be able to issue the payee an atm/credit card that can access one account but not all of the accounts. So the person gets their allowance every two weeks but can’t access their long-term savings or mess with the bank account.
You might check with Ally online bank about representative accounts.I have accounts at Ally including a trust account. Ally bank is usually on the lists of best online banks.
