Who ever heard of H-E-B?

I sure wish I had an Aldi’s or Lidl near me. I live in N.E. NC. We are saturated with grocery options so I guess the German companies won’t have a place here.

A few years ago Lidl had plans to be here (Outer Banks, NC) They bought some land in Nags Head. Their normal building has a lot of glass. The local building codes have a lot of hurricane code stuff in them, we’re right on the ocean. Lidl asked for a variance, Dare County said no. They both wouldn’t budge. Lidl ended up selling the land.

Building on the coast is expensive and… most would agree.. risky.

A nice excuse to visit Germany… or, not as exciting but, there’s plenty in the Southeast (as you probably know). Cheers! :slight_smile:

Yes. I don’t live there, but I visited Houston. Very popular wi locals, it appears.My fave Texas retailer… Buc-ee’s! Though I wouldn’t call Buc-ee’s a grocer. Cheers.
