Don't bother filing a complaint with CFPB

I completely agree. When a business is in trouble due to mismanagement, the first thing that happens is replacement of the boss. The boss usually terminates at least the next 3 levels of management simply because of nepotism. It just has to happen to change the culture of the business.

This is what needs to happen at the federal level. Sadly we cannot “fire” congressmen or senators. The level of graft and corruption is at such a level it will make your nose bleed.

I’ve worked for the government and I’ve worked in the private sector and this statement applies equally to both.

I agree… I’ve worked as a vendor with the Feds and a wide range of private sector and public sector organizations and later in life as a primary contractor with state & local government entities.

All of them had a wide mix of competent and incompetent people on the payroll.

Which Federal organizations did you find loaded with incompetence? I would suggest to you that marginal workers are more prevalent in low-skill/low-paying positions than they are in the professional ranks of any organization. It’s fairly easy to be lazy, it’s more difficult to get away with incompetence when there’s a paper trail to follow.

And the easiest thing to do is complain to an agreeable audience.

And let me tell you, it is one big joke. Its insane the amount of money being wasted on these terrible workers (sure some are actually good, but they are far and few in between).[/quote]

Not equally, that’s not possible. A government organization is funded by outside productivity, i.e. the taxpayer and a private organization if truly private sector operates off of it’s own productivity.

When you can operate off the productivity of others you can do so into perpetuity. As Margaret Thatcher would say at least “until you run out of other peoples money”. When you have to operate off your own productivity it all stops when you are no longer productive.

Much more prevalent in federal workers. The biggest difference is firing a worker. You about need an act of congress to fire a federal employee vs private, which is the biggest problem.

I’ll start with the IRS. I have an ongoing dispute with my corporate taxes. My corporate year runs from 8/1 - 7/31 of the next year. They say I owe money on my return. I say I paid it. I sent them the transaction # via EFTPS. I point out that they are looking at the wrong year.

I just received a threat to levy a lein on my property because we are arguing about $200. I could get my accountant involved - that will cost me a few hundred there. It’s completely ridiculous.

I won’t even get into the issue of calling the IRS for tax advice. They specifically state that “they are not responsible for any answers they provide.” So, if you follow their advice, and it’s wrong - they wash their hands. Don’t get me started on the higher ups conveniently losing multiple hard drives that conveniently were not backed up.
