Yes, there may be out of pocket costs. Plans differ a bit.
Your best bet is to compare the different supplement plans available in your state. Medicare.gov has a lot of information on available plans and their costs.

Goes up with age every couple of years or less. I’m 85, I won’t reveal what my current premiums are, you need to get a good night’s sleep and stay healthy.
Selecting a Medicare plan should not be this complicated! Government!?!?!?!
It really should not be that complicated. So many people get bitten because they don’t understand the maze of rules. I hate that many decisions are basically irrevocable, one-way trips, with massive penalties.
I have VA Health care as my primary with co-pays. Any plan recommendations for a supplement
plan that would handle the co-pays?
Advantage plans are essentially HMOs. HMOs make more money the LESS treatment they provide.
As a provider, I can tell you that Kaiser is a joke.
But Medicare is becoming more and more of a joke, because the “allowable” fees are ridiculous. On a visit to my nephrologist, they allowed only HALF of what his fee was. We have to get the government to lift all fee restrictions for Medicare non-participating providers, or there will be no care for seniors. Or the medical care will resemble Cuba’s.
Could not find an endocrinologist to treat me in a reasonable time on Medicare, so I am seeing a concierge end this Friday. Had to sign a bunch of papers agreeing that Medicare will not be billed for any procedure. The visit and a follow up visit will cost me $350 out-of-pocket.
No more complicated than selecting a life insurance policy or a disability policy or deciding which car to buy.
I wouldn’t go without my Medicare Advantage Plan! I get so much more with mine than regular Medicare and I don’t have to worry about hitting “the donut hole”
Medicare Advantage is best for those not needing a lot of care. Also, best to choose a MA plan with a 4 or higher rating. If you have a lot of problems, needing max care, then traditional Medicare, with supplement, may work better for you. Also,MA works better if you live in a high population area, with many providers, since you can only see providers in the plan. Some MA plans have much more benefits than others.I choose a MA plan with fewer benefits, but has a $175 a month Part B giveback.
