Costco Early Executive Member Hours

Costco recently announced early shopping hours for Executive memberships. Will this alter how you shop at Costco or make you consider upgrading your membership?

I already am an executive member and also an early riser. I have been disappointed that Costco opened at 10 when grocery stores, Home Depot etc. open as early as 7. So yes, I will be shopping there early to beat the crowds. Now waiting for their “Scan & Go” knockoff which I heard is coming.

i shop early at winco, 6am on sundays while they are restocking
works great!

I suspect it will go the way of the airport lounges. Too many people will further enrich Costco by upgrading to Executive level, the result being it becomes overcrowded.

I liked Costco, but I rarely go there except for gas - because of the crowds. But with this new perk of early access for Executive members, I certainly approve. BTW, Sam’s club is way ahead of Costco - Sam’s normally opens at 10 a.m. but Cost Plus members can start shopping at 8:00 a.m. That is great - use it all the time. Time is money.

When I go into Google and search for ‘Costco’ on the right side it shows info about the company and my local store. However it also shows a bar chart with typical attendance.

The relative numbers help define when you might shop there.

The busiest Costco (a few hundred miles from this one, has less varience during the day.

Noting the trend, 9am should be less busy than 10am.

It used to be that way and then they changed it and now they are changing it back.
