I researched the best massage gun as I’ve been dealing with muscle soreness and stiffness after workouts and long hours sitting at my desk.I went through reviews from trusted sources like Reddit, Wirecutter, and other fitness review websites, and after comparing many options, these two kept coming up as the top choices:
However, I’m having trouble deciding which one would be better for me, and I’d really appreciate your advice. I’m hoping some fitness enthusiasts, athletes, physical therapists, or anyone with hands-on experience can share their thoughts. Any recommendations, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a cheap ($20) massage gun and it works very well for the aches I can reach for 5 years so far. It has the same problem as the more expensive ones in that I cannot reach areas on my back. It was well worth the price.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I agree that using a massage gun at full power isn’t necessarily better, especially when dealing with sore muscles. I’m mainly looking for something that offers good recovery without being too aggressive. The Ekrin B37 and Theragun Prime Plus both sound interesting, but I also like the point about considering a foam roller or heating pad. For this Mebak and B37v2 I think would be great options. I’ll probably compare a few of these options before deciding.
My wife and I have a lot of experience in massage. I have several friends who are massage therapists. In their professional practices they use the Theragun models. I have had the opportunity to use those and they are excellent. They have more depth of throw than many of the less expensive models.
One day we were walking through Costco and they had Sharper Image massage guns for about $80. We thought what the heck, we can return it if we don’t like it. That was a few years ago and we are still using it and we really like it. It works very well. I think that many of the similar models work pretty well too.
And I learned of this massage unit from one of the best massage therapists I have ever known. She and her husband both had one at home in their EZ Chairs. And they take them on trips. They work really well. We have had ours for a few years now. This is the make, the exact model might be different.
** Be careful of the heat setting. You can burn yourself. We use a towel and a shirt between the unit and our back when using the heat setting. With this caution in mind, this is a great unit.
