Clark mentions best deal on grills on the newsletter today. Based on my personal experience last month (I needed a new grill, and got one for Father’s Day), the best deal was … Academy Sports and Outdoors! This was after going to Lowes, Home Depot, Costco, Sams Club, BJs, and Walmart. The price difference between Walmart and Academy was minimal (not a full dollar for a comparable grill) but if you are an Academy loyalty member, you can order online for pickup, and assembly is free! That time savings along with the great price tipped the scales in Academy’s favor.
Thanks for sharing! Free assembly is a nice bonus and can definitely save both time and hassle. I’ll have to check Academy Sports next time I’m shopping for a grill instead of just comparing the big box stores.
That’s really helpful to know. I usually end up checking the same few stores, so I probably wouldn’t have thought to compare Academy. Free assembly is a nice perk too, especially if you don’t want to spend an afternoon putting everything together. It’s always nice to hear about deals that come from someone’s actual experience instead of just an advertisement. Thanks for sharing!
We bbq several times a week. This year it was time to replace my 20 year old Weber Grill. I knew exactly the features I wanted, it took awhile to figure out what brands and models were good matches. Once I had two models I started comparison shopping all of the sites that were listed above, that are available to me. I then went to our local Appliance shop that only sells appliances. For $50 higher than the best price I could find elsewhere, they delivered the grill to my patio fully assembled and hauled off the old bbq. Best $50 I spent in awhile.
