Im going to UAE, Abu Daubi for 2 weeks. What are my options for temporty cell service? I’ve heard I can just buy a sim card for a provider so I can be in touchwith my family in the USA or is there a better option?

With an unlocked phone you can purchase a prepaid sim card. When we travel overseas, we use T-Mobile for text and data and WhatsApp for free calls including to the US when we are on wifi. Unfortunately, Abu Dhabi is not included in either the T-Mobile or Google Fi overseas plans. Also, my understanding is that Abu Dhabi blocks WhatsApp. It may be possible to use a free VPN to bypass the block.
