Keep in mind that Walgreens is closing a bunch of stores.
Lost my shirt in Rite Aide stock a long time ago. Walgreen’s was a stock recommendation I did not act on. Glad I didn’t. CVS was a big recommendation that isn’t doing so hot either.
Margins on Rx drugs are not what they used to be. And more and more drugs are bought online.
On a different subject, Wal-Mart lost its shirt on in-store medical and dental clinics.
And I remember not to far back when Walgreen’s was a hot stock recommendation.
Pharmacy benefit managers, amongst other things, have killed pharmacy profit margins.
And rival CVS has not done so well with all those urgent care centers in stores. That company is struggling also.
Oh, how I miss the days of Mom & Pop independent pharmacies where I could actually talk to a pharmacist to phone in prescriptions for my patients!
