Quit claim in NC

i went on Gale legal forms, and filled out a quit claim with notary public, to get my name off a family house. The county of buncombe NC would not accept anything that is not completed by a lawyer.

Is there a way to bypass this? Realtors in my state told me this is legal where I live.

I would suspect that with the amount of title fraud and squatting that is going on these days, that that is at least a part of the reasoning.

than all those legal forms for your state at the library are a waste of time. I do have Transfer on death on all of my assets.
