I have applied for the card as it is a no brainer. We have Walmart + anyways and buy just about all our groceries there.
I just got it, I do most of my shopping there, so it was a no brainer, also wanted to tell everyone if you have AARP you can get $40.00 off the Walmart+ membership. Winner Winner!
Doesn’t interest me because I have a pen fed cc that gives 3% back for shopping and specifically says “most Walmart and target locations “
So with no interest in Walmart + this card offers more flexibility and shopping locations
Well that is good what you have. Most companies exclude Walmart as a grocery store so you are lucky.
Works for me!
Yes, I applied and got it set up pretty quickly. You have to use your phone for part of the process in order to scan an id and take a selfie. Hope it lasts longer than the capital one version.
We buy groceries exclusively from Walmart and I’ve been very tempted to get the OnePay Walmart card.
Why haven’t I?
I already get 2% back with my Citi rewards, and calculate that additional 3% back as worth about $200 a year to me. And while a recurring $200 bonus value would be great, so often these offers change or completely go away after a year or two.
But if I take the credit hit on a card that gives me a $1200 bonus and/or a year of 0% interest, etc. I can capture a significant reward that they can’t take away.
I live close to a walmart, and get most of my groceries there, but haven’t seen the value in walmart+. I don’t get groceries delivered and the Paramount streaming isn’t of interest. The walmart online offerings are higher priced than Amazon, so the free shipping isn’t interesting to me. I wish they copied the (now discontinued) Capital One Walmart card, and offered the 5% rebate without requiring walmart+ subscription.
Yeah, the way they discontinue these 5% cards all the time is a big reason I haven’t bothered to take the credit hit to get this one.
And the (included) Paramount + is an absolute nightmare. It continually crashes on every device and the commercials are 5 times as loud as the program. And I’m not exagerating. The volume goes from 2 to 10 every time they go to a commericial and you must constantly mute. It is a horror.
I understand. I am getting too old to buy groceries so delivery is nice (every two weeks). Paramount is good for football. Haven’t had any issues with Paramount +. I DO compare prices on Amazon and its 5% card is great. I notice sometimes that the “Lowered Price” on a Walmart item matches what Amazon has, so SOMEONE at Walmart is taking notice.
You’re right
